Finland’s government is finalizing a long-prepared legislative proposal concerning the use of technology in social care, including elderly care.
MariCare has submitted a written statement on the proposal to the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. In our statement, we particularly emphasize the importance of risk-based regulation and the need to assess imaging and non-imaging technologies based on their actual impact and the privacy risks they pose.

MariCare Elma® Detection -radar løsning er blevet valgt til det moderne plejecenter Fuglsangsø Plejecenter i Herning. Plejecentret er kendt for sit moderne ældreplejemiljø og sit fokus på beboernes trivsel, sikkerhed og pleje af høj kvalitet i hverdagen. Pilotprojektet blev lanceret på demensafdelingens beboerværelser i november 2023, og efter positive resultater blev systemet permanent implementeret i 2025. I foråret 2026 blev brugen af systemet udvidet gennem et pilotprojekt på den somatiske afdeling.
In elderly service counselling in Päijät-Häme, the goal is to make high-quality, timely decisions based on the client’s actual functional abilities. The pilot launched in 2021 using MariCare’s activity sensing system demonstrated that the solution provides new, reliable data on the daily lives of older people to support decision-making. MariCare’s Elma and eLsa activity monitoring systems have become significant decision-support tools and represent a new application area within the assessment work of elderly service counselling in Päijät-Häme.
We have released MariCare Solution 4.0 software version for our customers in elderly care units. The update brings a better user experience, intelligent support features for everyday care work, and even more enhanced security. We recommend upgrading to the new version. The MariCare Solution software upgrade also includes an update of the server operating system, which we provide as a separate, chargeable service.
